About

Since 1979, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest (RMHC-UM) has provided a caring and comfortable home away from home to families facing a child's serious illness or injury. We've grown from a single house on the East Bank of the U of Minnesota to 4 locations across the Twin Cities and 1 in Duluth, and from serving a few hundred tothousands of families a year.

Mission Statement

OUR MISSION: We,in partnership with our community, providea comfortable and caring home-away-from-homethat supports keeping families together and reduces stress during a childs serious illness.

We surround families with a caring and supportive community of support and a variety of family-focused services including complimentary meals, overnight accommodations, day rooms for naps and showers, laundry and workout facilities, preschool programming and an on-site K-12 school. Our main house, RMH-Oak Street, serves families who live 40+ miles away (including families from across the country and the world), while our 3 hospital-based sites serve families from the metro area, state and region. Families are never asked to pay for our services, so we rely on generous individuals and compassionate organizations to help us fulfill our mission.
