Where:Gray Branch Parkland, Gray BranchRd, McKinney, TX 75071
When:Saturday, May 17th, 2024, 8am 11am
What we will be doing: Well be clearing the trail,clearing areas around planted trees, performing trash pickup, and removingfallen debris and trash on trails, removing stumps, marking potential dangersalong the nature path, and applying trail markings. Tools available willinclude weed whackers, backpack blowers, loppers, shovels, etc. To use powertools, youll have to complete MPF Safety Orientation.Clickhere to view the regulations.
What to bring:Printthe volunteer waiverand bring it with you. Participants under age 18need to have a guardian or parent sign the form.You will also needto have your own work gloves. Bring bug spray, sunscreen, and water.Protective eye wear is recommended if you plan to be cutting branches oroperating some of the cutting tools. If you bring your own tools, please havethem marked as such so we know they are yours.
What do I wear: Long pants, long sleeves, and closedtoed shoes or boots. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended. Pleasedress appropriately for the weather.Please do not wear leggings,shorts, or other thin material which is not protective on your body.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes early for waiver sign-inand team assignments.
Volunteer workdays are open to all members of the public.Volunteers can earn service hours for their school group, troop, or club. See amember of the McKinney Parks Foundation to have your volunteer forms signed atthe end of the event.
