About this Opportunity
Join Montgomery Parks for a day of celebrating Disability Pride Month and the 35th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act! We''ll enjoy a morning in the park with adaptive outdoor activities. This event is open to all.
This free event gives participants with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities such as kayaking, adaptive mountain biking, pontoon boat rides, hiking, and birding with the assistance of Montgomery Parks staff and volunteers. This will be outdoor work, rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, the event will be cancelled and not rescheduled.
We are looking for friendly and energetic volunteers who share an enthusiasm for the outdoors. Prior experience working with people with various disabilities is preferred. If you are unable to commit to the full shift, please contact Rachel Cara ([email protected]) to coordinate a schedule.
